At the age of seven Donna watched her father murder her mother so as a result she was fostered out. Bullied and taunted as she was shuffled from family to family and school to school Donna questioned her worth. Today she fights to stop bullying in schools.
A couple of decades her husband, Comedian Michael Bennett, encouraged Donna to use the adversity she faced as a child to help others.
Today Donna Leigh-Perfect is a resilience coach and co-founder of The Dream Guards. The Dream Guards conduct anti-bullying entertainment shows in schools. Together with her husband she has created what she calls her “PEACE” tools to tackle the bullying issue head on implementing it in a program.
She also authors childrens books and helped develop a suicide prevention app. A qualified counsellor, PT and suicide prevention first aider she recognises the impact poor mental health can have on youth.
