Anaemia (or anemia) affects more than half a million Australians each year, and varies greatly from person to person.

It is a condition easy to treat.

So why is it such a burden on our health system?

It is a major contributor to missed days at work, continual pathology tests and even may go right down to treatments requiring infusions.

Anaemia presents a huge financial cost to the population, yet often overlooked as a main cause of fatigue and shortness of breath.

There are many types of anaemia, from Iron Deficiency Anaemia, Pernicious Anaemia, and even Haemolytic Anaemia.

This epsiode Dale and Tracy run through the causes of Anaemia.

They examine, what happens to your bodies when it occurs, and what you can do about it to ensure it can be resolved.

This is considered a main self-treatment request in community pharmacy.

With people often missing the potential underlying health conditions causing this issue.

Our red blood cells are vital to our ability in transporting oxygen on its haemoglobin.

and a diagnosis of anaemia is often an early warning sign of something much more sinister.
